It Makes Perfect Sense to Me!

I feel like I have been pretty good with my diet so far. I did not gain any weight after my vacation, which was a surprise, but also a huge win, cause we ate good! My goal weight for Redman is around 175 lbs, which is only 5 lbs away currently. So what am I doing?

Not much actually, just eating sensibly.  I try to not snack throughout the day. I try to eat to not stuff myself. I also try to not eat late at night. I still have my weakness for Taco Bell though, but that is not what I want to talk about. (Cause no matter what you say say, Yo Quiero Taco Bell!!!!)

One thing I am doing is I am having one day a week where I could care less about what I eat. If I want ice cream, I eat it. If I want chips and salsa, I eat it. If I want three or four Cokes, then bottoms up! Now does this work as a weight loss program? I seriously doubt it, but I am not a doctor.

This is MY philosophy!

But it does make this journey more realistic for me in a weird sort of gluttonous type of way.  These days are not necessarily planned either, I mean I do not wake up and think, "today is my day, now feed me!" It just kind of happens and then I go with it.

Today was one of those days. Coca Cola was my poison today, along with prime rib, mash potatoes, sweet tea, ice cream and chips and salsa, bite size candy bars, cinnamon jolly ranchers and a couple of Tootsie Rolls!

Don't judge me.

  1. Boy I bet you would be a dangerous one in Vegas! Pushing all your literal "chips" in there to cap the day off with Tootsie Rolls!! Go big or go home, we train that way and I think we eat that way. Sunday, after my big lake swim, I stopped by this BBQ pit lake side and had 3 scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Zero regrets. Dr. Pepper is my poison, that and french fries.

There just isn't any way I could go an entire training cycle with eating perfectly. I would hurt someone, or myself.

  2. Glad this is working out for you. It seems like men have an easier time with weight management when training for endurance sports, I personally can't eat anything "extra" and have to watch my daily calories like a hawk. There are no cheat days/meals/snacks, and my weight still barely budges down. Rough stuff.

  3. I like your idea. However, my problem with this idea is I can't seem to stop at one day. Once I get a taste for deliciousness the next thing I know I've eaten that way for a week and then I'm feeling bad..physically and mentally. I really do this it's ok to have an off day here and there, I just can't seem to get it to work for me. I say that because I think I'm in about day 7 or 8 of a downward spiral. So far so good today, hopefully this will be the day I make a comeback :) I have 15 pounds to lose before Chicago in Oct. Should be totally do-able if I focus.

Good luck on your 5 pounds! You can totally make that happen.

  4. 5 pounds...you've got it! I like how you're gonna do it too. I've followed this plan for a long time! Enjoy what you like, but get those calorie-burning exercises in. I love food! :)
