I can honestly say that this morning when I ran my scheduled 5 miles, it was the first time in about 3 weeks that I enjoyed being outside running. I have literally had to kick myself out the door for the last three weeks in order to get my runs in for this marathon. Why was today different? I have no clue. All I know is that the 5 miles went by quickly, and it went effortlessly. I was trying to maintain marathon pace and actually I was faster than I wanted to be, but I felt great. So go figure that one.
I have been trying to decide on something. Do I take my Garmin on my marathon or go with my stopwatch. I know that every mile will be marked with an aid station, so it is not like I have to keep up with any distance, but I wonder if I will miss my Garmin? Thoughts?
Today, in the dreaded inter company office mail I got something really cool. The Target Tri Team jersey for 2012. It looks awesome too. here are pictures of the front and back.
I can't wait to race in it! I wish we had more participation in Memphis with this club, and that is something I am going to work on! Anyways, with that I am out. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and everyone can find something to be thankful for, no matter how bad you think it is!
P.S. if you are out shopping on Black Friday, just remember that people working retail are doing the best they can to make sure you get a great deal on the merchandise, cause we don;t get a shot at those deals!
Glad you got your running mojo back. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteIf your Garmin gives you instantaneous pace go with that. If you use a regular watch once you get to a mile marker and see you just ran :30 sec too fast over the last mile, it's too late, you just flushed extra energy down the drain.
