Explain this...

Alright people, explain this to me. There is a show on VH1 called the Pick Up Artist. The basis of this show is to take self professing, low esteemed, shy guys and train them on how to pick up girls. It is a reality show, so every week a guy gets kicked off if he has no "game."

The show is run by a dude named "Mystery" or his given name is Eric Von Markovik. Here is a photo.
Question I have is who would sleep with a guy that wears a fur cowboy hat with goggles, or another relevant question, what type of loser would choose him to be his teacher??


The funny thing about this show is the terminology that he uses and teaches. It is very hard to describe and I do not know what the heck he is talking about, but it is some lame mojo to be floatin round da club! Examples:set, peacocking, indicator of interest, neg hits, and canned material. All this is talked about with a very serious and straight face.

Let me school ya in a little more of the Mystery Method. The Mystery Method Model consist of 3 stages: Attraction, Comfort, and Seduction (give me a second, I am laughing at this already)

Attraction Phase: The goals of the 'Attraction' phase are to start a conversation with the female ; demonstrate high 'value' to the female in order to build her attraction to the pickup artist (which is you, the Dude); and to appear to become increasingly attracted to her, for reasons other than her looks, while making her increasingly invested in the interaction (Male to Female interest).

Comfort Phase: In the 'Comfort' phase, the pickup artist attempts to establish rapport, trust, connection and a sense that the interaction is real and genuine. According to the Mystery Method, "the game is played in comfort". It is the longest and most crucial step and generally takes several hours, possibly over the course of several days, to complete. Mystery writes that of the average 4 to 10 hours it takes to build a connection sufficient for the initiation of a sexual relationship, as much as 90% will be spent in the comfort-building phase. 4 to 6 hours huh? Wow!!!

Seduction Phase: The 'Seduction' phase is the physical escalation towards sex and dealing with a woman's natural apprehension towards sex with a new partner. It also includes dealing with Last Minute Resistance (LMR for short and to sound really cool), for which the Mystery Method advocates freeze-outs in which the pickup artist agrees with the resistance ("you're right, we shouldn't be doing this"), withdrawing and re-directing the situation to something boring like playing cards or table tennis.

There are so many things I could rant about this guy, but basically it boils down to this. Say whatever you have to in order to sleep with a girl you pick up at a bar. that will make a geeky guy cool.

Gotta say, I am glad I am not in the dating scene anymore, no way I could remember my canned opening when I open a set to judge the indicator of interest, in hope of sleeping with a drunk chick!

This is such a loser show, but for some reason, I can't look away!
