Our family campout went great, just to let you know. We had a real busy morning, with fu shots, school carnivals and pancake breakfasts, so it was nice to get outdoors. We drove up to Chickasaw State Park near Jackson, TN. It was very very crowded and really had to look for a campsite. Campsite 28 was were we placed our tent.
First thing, was to unload the van, and get the tent up. The tent went up pretty easily, much to my surprise. SO then we were out in the woods looking for firewood. I think this was the best part for the boys. They messed with that fire non stop. We cooked HOBO dinners that night and they were freakin great!
So at about 8:00 PM, we all piled into the tent to watch Indiana Jones on the laptop, but the battery was down. So it is sleepy time right? I was out by 8:30. It was a cold night so we were all bundled up in sleeping bags and skull caps! I slept great, did not wake until early the next morning. Apparently the wife and kids did not have the same great nights sleep like I did!
Got up and cooked eggs and bacon, which were great, then we went fishing before heading home. The hardest part about camping is repacking the dang tent! It is virtually impossible. The kids had a great time and said it was the best campout ever, which was great to hear.
