I recently joined FaceBook. One reason was because my sister kept telling me about how she reconnected (hate that word) with old friends from high school and has began communicating with them again. I got curious, and wondered where some of my old running buddies ended up. Plus, I have my 20 year reunion coming up soon! 20 years, yikes!
So anyways I joined, created my profile and where I graduated from and then the lists were created. There were a ton of people I knew on FaceBook. Some I wanted to know about, some I could car less about also. Some people, well it was great to see where they ended up and who they married, and even if they had kids. So i added all my stuff. I added pictures of the family, all that good stuff, and I was found by some what I remembered as cool people.
The other thing was this. I was also requested as a friend by people I never talked to in high school, or that they never talked to me. So I think a lot of people may be treating this like their senior year for the yearbook, you know what I mean, join everything you can so there will be some activities listed by your name so years from now, no one will remember how true a loser we all were!
It is fascinating to also see how some of these people have aged or expanded! The jock of the school is now bald and fat. The babes of 89 are not what I remembered them to be either. We all got older, and it appears that a lot of them have changed from what I remembered in high school or what I pictured them being once they grew up. You know as I write this, someone from there is probably saying some crap about me the way I am talking about them...maybe things hasn't changed that much since high school after all!
