First let me say a big Thank you to all who left comments and said they were tracking me, it was pretty awesome to read the comments. I can also say that I am a marthoner runner now since I did finish the St Jude's Marathon in 6:08. It wasn't as fast as I had planned, but I learned alot during this first attempt.

Also I wanted to say one other thing. This was one of the most humbling things I have ever attempted. Not because of the distance or because of my performance but because of the kids at St Jude's Childrens Hospital. One section of the course ran right down the middle of the campus of St Jude's. I am not an emotional guy, but I was almost brought to tears running through that crowd and seeing the signs they made. There were alot of pictures of children battling all types of disease, and on those signs, they were saying that we were their Heroes for running. Other signs read "Blisters don't require Chemo" and " I am a survivor becasue you run". Heavy stuff, and when you see the children who have lost their hair, wearing a mask holding these signs telling you that you are doing some wonderful thing because you are running was tough for me. I have never shed a tear in a race, but I had some watery eyes and I could not wait to get out of that section. I also saw alot of signs with kids names that were the same as my kids, and I could only think that by the grace of God, I do not have to deal with anything like they are going through. I couldn't even talk to my wife about this without getting choked up.
So I would encourage everyone to travel to Memphis next year and do this rae for the kids, you will never forget it.
Race report coming soon. Thanks for reading!
