As you know, I have been completing alot of my runs on the treadmill lately due to the cold weather. It appears to me on paper than I am getting faster and able to hold a pcae better. Yesterday I did 6 miles in 47:48, which is good for me. I have a race coming up this Saturday, a 10K run, and I am still wondering if treadmill times are faster or slower than road running times. I really would like to think that I will be faster on the road, and I am still shooting for a sub 50 minute race on Saturday. It is suppose to be in the 40's and maybe a little wet, which I know will be factors.
So let me know people, are you faster on the treadmill or on the road?
I agree with you and it also works with trainers as well, a hour on the trainer is harder then a hour on the road.
ReplyDeleteoutside is easier for me. By perceived effort, I feel like I am working harder on the treadmill at a slower speed. No idea why.
ReplyDeleteI always do better outdoors. Then again, I can't run on the treadmill. Have to echo the "more effort/less speed" comment...I'm useless on a treadmill.
ReplyDeleteI burn up a treadmill. Think it is because I hate it some much so if I run faster then the workout will be done sooner (-"
ReplyDeleteI HATE the treadmill but I find that it is easier and I can go faster on the treadmill (i get better times). I don't know why...
