2010 Starting Off Slowly

Well, my 2010 has started off rather slowly this year. New Years was great. Jan 2 was even better. My oldest son and I went to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis and watched our beloved Razorbacks play the East Carolina Pirates. We won in OT, but it was toe curlin cold, and I think that is where I caught my cold. (Also, check back because Jake said he wanted to be a guest blogger and write about the Liberty Bowl)

So that has really hampered my workouts so far. But I have great plans! As you know, one of the things I have really wanted to work on, was eating a better diet. In the past, my thought process was, "since I have the activity, I can really eat whatever I want and it won't hurt me". Well, that is a thing of the past.

Since 2010 has started, I have cut back on my Cokes and fast food. I am only allowing myself one Coke a day. I will be drinking water throughout the day instead. Also, no more Egg McMuffins or Big Macs. Gone! Now my mindset is more of "think how awesome I could be if I had a good diet AND all this activity"!

I have also started taking a multi vitamin daily. Also I am taking Fish Oil (help get lean) and Glucosamine Chondroitin (helps me with my joints). Now I have no idea if the CG and Fish oil will work or not, but I am giving it a month to see if it helps. (I will let you know)

I also got on my bike for the first time in 8 weeks the other night for a trainer ride. This happened after I had to change the tubes out due to a flat, which is always good practice. My butt was sore, so I need to get my bike on the trainer alot.

I am adding some other Triathletes blogs to my site that I visit, you should go check them out!

  1. I was also at the Arkansas game. BRRR! But it was great to see the Hogs win.

I've heard great things about the Glucosomine.. I hope it works for ya.

  2. I take the fish oil too. I have read in different places about the benefits, but the one I like the most is how it helps keep your joints working.

I don't know if it does or not, but what can it hurt, right?

  3. I figure I give them both a month and then I will report on my findings.
