This week I had the chance to speak at a crime conference here in Memphis. the conference was put on by the Sheriff's Office and had close to 300 people in attendance. My topic: Organized Retail Crime.
It was really kind of cool too. I wasn't that nervous because I knew the content of the presentation, but I wasn't as confident in my delivery. It did not help that my boss and my bosses boss were all sitting there front and center while I spoke. But I have to say, it went really well. People appeared interested in my talk and PowerPoint as I looked over the crowd and I could feel myself get more comfortable as it went on. It lasted almost an hour, which is a long time to talk by the way.
Anyways, it was cool to have people seek me out after the conference, they introduced themselves and told me they really enjoyed my presentation. They will never know how much I enjoyed hearing that they thought it was interesting and worthwhile!
