1st Annual NBA Playoff preview!

OK Sports fans, here is my first ever NBA Playoff Preview post! Now I know not many people care about the NBA, but I do enjoy watching the playoffs, because that is the only time the teams really play hard!

First, I start with the West. Here are the seedings:
1. LA Lakers
2. New Orleans Hornets
3. San Antonio Spurs
4. Utah Jazz
5. Houston Rockets
6. Phoenix Suns
7. Dallas Mavericks
8. Denver Nuggets

First Series: Lakers vs. Nuggets
This series should be over pretty quick. The Lakers will overpower, over run and out play the Nuggets. The Nuggets give up way to many points to stop Kobe and Gasol! (Yeah I know, but he is on their team now) MY PICK: Lakers in 4

Second Series: Hornets vs. Mavericks
Chris Paul is crazy good. The Mavs have some injuries to deal with and as much as I can’t stand Mark Cuban, I am definitely going with Chris Paul cause is his better is better than Dirk’s better! MY PICK: Hornets!

Third Series: San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns
I hate the Spurs. MY PICK SUNS

Forth Series: Utah Jazz vs. Rockets
This is a tougher series to pick. I am a huge McGrady fan, but also the Jazz have former HAWG Ronnie Brewer! Few years ago I would have never rooted for the Jazz during the mailman daze, but I think the Jazz will win it! MY PICK: JAZZ

So I pick the Lakers, Hornets, Suns and Jazz to in first round. The champion out of the West will be the Lakers.

Now let’s look at the East teams. Here are the seeds:
1. Boston Celtics
2. Detroit Pistons
3. Orlando Magic
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
5. Washington Wizards
6. Toronto Raptors
7. Philly 76ers
8. Atlanta Hawks

Really the only series I care about is the 4 seed vs. 5 seed matchup, the Cavs vs. Wizards. These two teams hate each other. Of course you have LeBron on one team and another, not so well known phenom named Gilbert Arenas. This should be a great series and one I will watch. Of course it will all be in vain, because the Celtics should waltz through the playoffs. The big 3 of KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce will remain unstoppable just like in the regular season!

So I predict in the Finals; Celtics vs. Lakers

Just like in the old days baby! Magic and Bird

Boston Celtics win the NBA Championship for like the 400th time!

  2. Spurs being up 2-0 making you nervous yet? I personally think Shaq and Nash both peaked about 3-4 years ago, but hey, its not over yet. Also the Spurs are my favorite team, so I have to have something bad to say about their opponents!

I think the Lakers "resurgence" is all smoke and mirrors. I think the Suns, Spurs, Hornets and Jazz could all take them. Not saying the Lake-show can't get out of the West, but it wouldn't surprise me to have them watching the finals on tv like the rest of us.

And yeah, Cavs v Wiz could still be entertaining, but Agent 0 is gone after this year anyway (maybe a Grizzly?), so this was Washington's last chance to erase the "Cleveland pwns us in the postseason" label...that I just gave them.

Can't argue with the Celts coming out of the East. And I'd be really scared for my Spurs if they had to face the C's in a best of 7.

The NBA...where playing hard (at least in the playoffs) happens!

  3. Also, I had no idea you were one of the remaining 17 NBA fans in the world (myself included).

Good to find one of the others!

  4. Hey, the Suns had every chance to be up 2-0 on the Spurs!! Nash is nor has he ever been a favorite of mine but I do like the rest of the Suns.

Spurs are your favorites??? What?? I can't stand, can't stand, can't stand, cannn'tt stannndddd the NBA's biggest flopper named Mano (Vlade Divac) Ginobilli. I would have so much more respect for his game if he did not act as much as he does!

I wish Arenas had been healthy for the Cavs series, cause that would make it alot better to watch, but LeBron is unstoppable! And yes the Hornets are looking great, but I standby my picks!

Boston vs. LA in an old school rematch! Maybe they will bring back the uniforms of the 80's!

  5. Oh and about being a fan of the NBA, I really only pay close attention to it during the playoffs, because I feel like it is the only time they are really playing to win every games!
