Car Yellers!

Today was a beautiful day in Memphis. 62 degrees and sunny! So I actually got out and ran outside. My plan was to do a 9 mile run, but it was so nice out and I felt pretty good, so I decided to push it to doing 10 miles in 1:32. I wanted to keep all miles under 9:00, so it was easy to keep a goal of 9, 18, 27, etc and know how I was doing. I was able to keep that pace until mile 8, and I started falling behind a bit. I need to remember that last night I did a 22 mile trainer ride, so overall, I am pretty happy with this workout. I am still optimistic about a sub 2 hour 1/2.

When I got home I took an ice bath. I started filling up the tub and then crawled in. I had a towel wrapped around me and my skull cap on. I tried to last as long as I could in the tub, which was only about 4 minutes. Afterwards, I took a warm shower and my legs do feel pretty refreshed after a 10 miler.

On a side note, it always amazes me how people react when I am out running. Today I got 4 waves, 3 honks, one "Run Forest", got flipped off once, and one "Faster Fat ass". That last one hurt a my feelings a bit...NOT! The guy yelling must have been 300lbs+ judging from the way his car was creeping. I have never understood why people feel the need to yell at people running or biking. I imagine we all have had something funny yelled while working out, so let's hear them folks!

Hollywood, please shut up!

I imagine you all have heard Matt Damon give us his political worries and thoughts, but in case you haven't, please take a minute to view this:

Are you sick of Hollywood actors thinking that we give a crap abut what they think? I will spare you the video of Snoop Dog talking politics on Larry King Live and Bill O'Reilly about him claiming he supports the "Gangsta Party". There is always an Alec Baldwin, a Tim Robbins, Chris Rock, Mos def, the dude from Nickelback, Micheal Moore or a Will I. AM form the black eyed peas (this list could go on forever) provide insightful gems of political wisdom! There are so many actors, who are paid and told what to do, what to wear and what to say for a living, playing roles of important people telling us what we need to know! Hey Martin Sheen, West Wing was fictional, you were not really the President!

But the real question is why do networks and news shows continually ask these dillweeds about politics? The worst example of this is the Bill Maher Show on HBO. He has some of the industry's biggest names on his show, seasoned actors, and newer fresher faces that have movies coming out. And they are all idiots. just act or sing or look pretty!

Every year we have some actor or big name celeb swear that if so and so does not win, they are moving out of the country! what would we do if that really happened? Have you thought about it? What if Alec Baldwin really moved out of the United States? How would we ever sustain as a country?

And is it me or do the republicans not have as many A list celebs backing them? I mean besides Chuck Norris and some country singers... Or maybe it is just that they do not spout off stupid stuff as much??? Hmm, I guess though when you have your VP candidate telling people that someone else is more qualified for the job than you are, does it really matter what anyone else says?
