Schwagbox Giveaway!

Yes, back to back to back giveaways on Daily Trainings! I know I do not need to ask, but who doesn't like schwag? Nobody! Everybody loves schwag! I have found one of the coolest product on the Internet and I am bringing it to you.

In my last issue of Triathlete Magazine, you might have seen a page about Schwagbox. Schwagbox is a subscription service that delivers a hand picked sampling of gels, bars, drinks, recovery nutrition, body care bike maintenance (lube, cleaners, grease, etc.) and other bits an pieces to your door every month. Every batch is hand picked by the editors at Bikerumor.com, the world's largest and most popular cycling blog, from the coolest things they see each month. You can find them at www.Schwagbox.com

So I reached out to Schwagbox and asked if I could do a review and a giveaway and they graciously agreed! I was able to speak to Evan at Schwagbox and before I knew it, my own Schwagbox was at my door. Now I am a guy that loves race packet pickup cause I always expect there to be some cool things in the packet, but I am usually disappointed and throw most of it away. When my wife told me I got a box today, it was like a kid getting an unexpected Christmas present. So I quickly tore the box open and this is what I found:

We need a closer look!
Clif Shot Blocks and gels!  Chocolate Berry and Citrus!
Zevlin Leg Shaving Creme and Pro Towels!
Now all of this came in the box, and this is something you can expect to be delivered to your door every month! How cool is that. Now there is a cost to this, not everything can be free! It costs $10 a month ( but they require an annual fee) but as you can see, you get more than $10 worth of product! Where else are you going to get delivered to your door the newest products out there? I do not know either!

Now for the giveaway! My new friend Evan at Schwagbox has agreed to send a reader a Schwagbox of their own!!  What will be in it? I have no idea, because they are continually sending out the newest, greatest stuff!! It will be good, trust me on this. So how do you enter? Simple.

Schwagbox has graciously agreed to give one person a Schwag box! So here are the rules to enter!

**Special thanks to Evan and Schwagbox for working with me on this! It is awesome that they are willing to help with the giveaway and I can't say Thank you enough!**

Sync Hydration Belt Giveaway!

I was in the market for a new fuelbelt type of device. My old would not really hold my water bottles anymore and they kept popping out. Plus it bounced up and down on my hips as I ran, sometimes chafing my back. Nothing is worse than to reach back for some water only to have it not there. So, I began looking at all the different ones out there and one caught my eye! The Sync Hydration Belt from Profile Design. I actually saw it in Triathlete Magazine and thought it had everything I wanted. So I contacted Profile Design and asked to do a review of their product and they graciously agreed.

Right off the bat, I noticed a few things I really liked about this belt. The first thing I loved was that the bottle brackets are adjustable. They can be moved to wherever fits you the best. Many time on my old belt I would have to twist the entire belt around in order to find some place comfortable on my hips. The second huge win for me was the ease in which the bottles are removed. I read on the brochure about how it was a "one handed deployment"  system that removed the bottles with a flick of the wrist, and I thought to myself, how tough can it actually be. I never used two hands before! However, after using this belt, it is really so easy to grab the bottles, especially since they are positioned in a good spot for me! I also liked that this belt is able to handled more! By that I mean that you can add different pouches that can hold anything from gels to cellphones or car keys. I used to have to use to different belts to hold gels and keys and such! The water bottles hold 8 ounces of your favorite liquid (and comes with a no leak cap, very important), so you could feasibly add another water bottle if you wanted to carry more! Plus it comes in a variety of colors so you can match it up to your running gear, cause we all know it is important to look good out there! The belts come with either a black or white belt with black, blue, red or pink trim

The only issue I had with the belt was that I think I should have order a bigger size, which was my fault. The Velcro strap makes it easy to wrap around, but with me having a 34 inch waist, I should have gone for the large which is 24-37, instead of the medium which is 31-34. So remember to always go larger when you go to get your Sync Hydration Belt, and speaking of getting you own Profile Design Sync Hydration Belt...

Profile Design has graciously agreed to give one person a new Sync Hydration Belt! So here are the rules to enter!

  1. Leave a comment in the comment section of this blog. (1 entry)
  2. Become or be a follower of Daily Trainings (1 entry)
  3. Like Profile Design on FaceBook and Twitter (1 entry a piece)
You can leave me a comment stating you have done all these things on one comment. The drawing will last until March 14, 2013. Each entry will be assigned a number and then a random number generator will select the winning entry! You have a chance to have 4 entries!

**Special thanks to Profile Design for working with me on this! It is awesome that they are willing to help; with the giveaway and I can;t say Thank you enough!**

Everyone WINS with WIN!

You have to be civilized...
Here lately, while it is still cold, I have been running in dry tech shirts, since I have been hitting the dreadmill regularly. The dreadmill means a lot of sweating, and sweat stinks. So once my runs are over and I get home, I usually hang them in the garage to dry, cause I am telling you, I sweat a lot! Especially when you are running as fast as I am! My wife does not like me to throw my sweaty shirt in the laundry hamper wet, which I learned a while back ago, so this is my way of keeping the peace and smell out of my house. So about once a week, I go and round up all my shirts hanging out in the garage and put them in the laundry basket to be washed and folded.

So the next time I go to wear these dry tech shirts, even after they have been washed, they still stink! Something about those fibers hang on to the funk, and nothing is worse than putting on a new. clean shirt and being able to smell yourself right? well I have an answer for that problem!

Win Detergent is a washing detergent specifically formulated to remove the oils and residues that cause odor from synthetic fabrics! Like I said earlier, no one wants to wear clothing that already smells bad! We all want our clothes to be clean and to smell clean. This detergent is specifically made for technical fabrics! You can find this product at over 250 specialty running, triathlon and cycling shops across the States.

If you look on the left side of my blog, you will see a link to the WIN website, and you will also see that the good people at WIN Detergent are offering the readers of Daily Trainings a $5 coupon of your order! None of this leave a comment or like my page to get the deal, just click the link!  That is pretty cool in my book, Thank you WIN Detergent! Do you luv your feet? I luv mine. My feet luv me because I put them in SockGuy socks!! And now you, the reader, have a chance to show your feet some LUV with this giveaway.

I was first introduced to SockGuy socks about a year ago. I had subscribed to Triathlete Magazine, and as part of that paid subscription, I received a cool pair of black SockGuy socks that said "Triathlete" on them! So of course, I could not wait to put them on and go running. And guess what? I was instantly faster!

Seriously, my feet feel great in these socks. They are my go to running/racing sock. I think it is very important as a runner and triathlete to take care of your feet and the first step is to find socks that fit your foot. And that is what SockGuy socks are, socks that fit, and that come in some of the most creative designs you will ever see.

SockGuy socks are extremely comfortable and they NEVER slip. They are made with a  stretch to fit design which ensures a perfect fit, they are durable and they allow for maximum ventilation due the cool airflow mesh! These are great socks!

So it is my pleasure to be able to pass along to you SockGuy socks. I have 5 pairs of socks, generously donate by SockGuy to give out to the readers of Daily Trainings. Two lucky winners this time. Giveaway Time! Endorphin Warrior Gear!

I am very happy to announce Daily Trainings 3rd Giveaway! While scrolling through some websites, I recently ran across the Endorphin Warrior website. Endorphin Warrior makes training jewelry that is simply awesome and inspirational. Their mission statement states it best:

"At Endorphin Warrior, our aim is to help you train, perform and live with greater strength of body and mind. We make products with positive and powerful messaging to wear while running, cycling, working out, sweating, racing - or all day long - to help you stay strong-minded and focused...and help you train harder, improve performance, overcome challenges, achieve your goals and live stronger."

There are so many items on the Endorphin Warrior website that I like. Dog tags, rings, pendants are just some of the items they have on their website and they all have inspirational messages on them. Keywords like persevere, unbreakable, relentless, fearless, conquer are just a few of the messages these items deliver to you. You can also get it personalized for whatever race you have coming up, whether it is a 13.1 marathon or a 140.6, you can even have the swim, bike, run tag on it. So when I saw these bracelets, I knew it was a fit for me. So I contacted Endorphin Warrior and asked about a giveaway for the blog and they graciously agreed!!!

The Endorphin Warrior Training bracelet is designed to be worn when running, biking or racing. There is a nickel plated metal tag (which will not rust or tarnish) riveted to a natural leather wristband with a snap closure for easy on and off access. It is available in 5 different sizes to accommodate women and men.

Mine came in the mail and I immediately took it out and started to wear it. I even went on a 12 mile run Saturday with it and loved it. It has been a topic of conversation also. I choose the keyword "Warrior" like the one pictured above. Not only is my triathlon team named the Warriors, it is also an attitude that I think fits the triathlete best. We are Warriors!

Also I received two different Warrior Wisdom's cards...

Number 1 says: "I love the feeling of my body in motion, muscular strength, exertion, the rhythm of movement, breathing deeply. I simply must experience this part of me."

Number 5 says: "During a run I often tune into another reality...my inner world. What occurs is a meshing of body, mind and spirit where I seem to gain a broader understanding of who I am."

So here is the giveaway! One lucky winner will win an Endorphin Warrior Training bracelet of your choice, with whatever keyword or phrase you want. Click on this link to see all the keywords available. All you have to do is the following:

Daliy Trainings Giveaway TIME!!!!

This is the second ever giveaway on Daily Trainings, and this one is going to be a good one. As I wrote a couple of posts ago, I got to meet Dane Rauschenberg at he St Jude's Marathon expo. Dane was there with his Sponsor Team Beef. Dane is a marathoner and ultra runner, but not just any marathoner. Dane ran 52 marathons in 52 consecutive weeks! Not only did he run these 52 marathons consecutively, but he also did this while working full time!  He also ran the 202 mile American Odyssey Relay by himself in just over 50 hours! Amazing! Dane graciously agreed to let me give a copy of his book away on my blog and even agreed to personally sign a copy.

So the giveaway is an autographed copy of Dane's book called See Dane Run!  This will tell the story about his quest for "fiddy2" as it is named. In this book, you may also be able to use this book as a guide to 52 distinct and unusual marathons across North America. It has been called an "inspirational tome for anyone looking to push themselves further than they thought possible." I have also ordered my wife a copy and I can't wait to read it. The giveaway ends on Saturday, December 17, 2011, with the winner announced the following day. So here are the guidelines:

3 Days Later and A Giveaway In The Works

It's Wednesday, 4 days after my first ever marathon and I am feeling great. Surprisingly great! I am totally surprised by this too. I mean I was ready to quit running all together after Sat. Saturday night I had some major calve cramps. I drank milk, ate bananas, Gatorade, Tums (calcium) stretched, sticked, foam rolled and massaged those suckers and it was just bad.  I ended up taking some Ibuprofen PM and slept like a log.

Sunday I woke feeling pretty good, even made it to church, but I'll admit to using the elevator instead of the stairs. That afternoon after lunch, it was over. I could not keep my eyes open. I was just physically tired. It was cold and raining outside, football was on the TV and the couch was mine. I woke up about 5 PM.

Monday, I still a little sore, but still feeling better. I had scheduled a massage for Monday and I was looking forward to it. It hurt so good. She was able to work out some soreness, especially in my legs. It was the perfect time for it too. I highly recommend it in the future.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, I was pretty much feeling better than before the race. Good enough to plan on running this marathon again next year. I have a time to beat in 2012. I admit it is a little embarrassing for me to say my time, but I think I really need to reassess my goal times, cause I do not think I met one of them this year. So next year, anything better than 6:08 will be a win!

Now as for the giveaway I am planning. Plans are in the works and I will be giving away a signed copy of  See Dane Run. Dane Rauschenberg ran 52 marathons in 52 consecutive weeks. I met him at the expo, and wrote about meeting him in my last post. Well, he was looking at race reports and read Daily Trainings and left a comment, and through email he agreed to let me give away a signed copy of his book. I can't wait to read it, it has gotten really great reviews on Amazon! So stay tuned for this giveaway!
