I was flipping through Triathlete Magazine and they had a page on nothing about goggles. One brand caught my eye based off the findings in the magazine. The Zoggs Phantom Elite goggles. Here is a quote from the magazine about them:
"The Draw: Flexible fit for many face shapes. The lenses of the Phantom Elite are more curved than the standard Phantom to increase field of vision. The frame is durable and flexible and stayed secure on a variety of face shapes. Testers like the blue lenses and soft feel for long yardage in the pool, but the wide lens shape would work well in open water as well"
It has always been very hard for me to find a goggle that fits me, it seems it has always been me trying to fit the goggles in the past. So I talked to the Zoggs representative and right there, I knew I had been going about getting my goggles all wrong. He really took the time to ask about what goggles I had used in the past and what problems I had with them. I even sent in a picture so they could get a look at this old ugly mug to assist in getting the right goggles for my face.
Let me ask you this, how do we all buy goggles? Usually standing there in the aisle, looking at price and which ones we think look the coolest! And then we always complain about the goggles not fitting right, about them leaking and about what every goggle says on it "won't fog up", which I am always a doubter about.
So I was thrilled when I received two pairs of Zoggs Phantom Elite goggles in the mail. One pair with the blue lens and one with the blank lens. I really could not wait to try them out. So the next morning I go to the pool to rock out 2000 yards. I put on the goggles and I dive in the water and it is amazingly clear. I get that they are clear because they are new, but it is altogether different. I could really tell that I did in fact have a larger field of vision in the pool. Everything was crisp and clear. I had zero issues with fogging. I did not have any issues with leaking. I did have to make a minor adjustment after about 10 laps, but once I got the fit right, I promise you it felt like I wasn't even wearing goggles. These goggles are made so that you do not have to wear them so tight on your face that you get that long swim headache! You know when your goggles are squeezing into your head and eyes? With just a slight suction, they are there and I promise you don't even feel them while swimming!
Other great things about the Zoggs Phantom Elite goggles:
- Soft frame- the flexible frame molds to your face for comfort
- 180 degree vision- the curved lens technology expands your peripheral vision
- Anti-Fog lenses- That are actually anti-fog!
- Quick Adjust- simple pull of the straps tightens and a push of a button loosens them
- Split silicone head strap- fits securely over the head
- Polarized Italian lenses- eliminates glare in open water
- UV Protection- eye protection
Now for the good news, Zoggs is going to giveaway a pair of goggles to a reader. All you have to do is follow the simple rules (as always) and I will draw a winner, and they will send you a pair of goggles directly! How cool is that? Here are the requirements to enter the drawing:
1. Be or become a follower of Daily Trainings (1 entry)
2. Leave a comment (1 entry)
3. Like Zoggs on FaceBook (1 entry) and I have provided a link
You will have until Saturday May the 5th to enter and a winner will be drawn on Sunday! This is one giveaway you do not want to miss out on! I have found my goggles of choice, and I guarantee you will love these goggles as well!
I'm a follower and here is my comment. I have a pair of Speedo goggles that work pretty well, but I have no backup pair so I'd be happy to try another brand. I use anti-fog drops and that seems to solve that issue for me most of the time.
ReplyDelete2 entries for you, you can always gain another entry by liking ZOGGS on FB!
DeleteI wanna win! Pick me pick me! This is my comment! Moo hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog cause that's what all the cool kids do! I'm gonna wait till other people comment before I leave another comment so as to be more random and improve my chances of winning. This is how I roll.
ReplyDeleteFree Mexican pizza coupons might sway my drawing! Just Say'n LOL
DeleteI have the TYR goggles. I also had a large pile of the "look cool" or "cheap" goggles that I recently gave to a friend that has a pool and is often entertaining. I would love to find a Google that really is anti-fog. That seems to be my biggest issue in open water.
ReplyDeleteI just "liked" then on Facebook. What I don't know is how to become a follower?
DeleteRunMKRun, if you look on the left hand side of my page, under the Warriors logo, you will see a box that says join this site! That's all it takes is to join this blog and become a follower! I am trying to hit 100 people!!
DeleteI don't have Facebook because I gave it up for lent but I did surf for them on Instagram which I felt might be an equal, they don't have an Instagram account although looks like lots of people have hashtagged them. Then I went and perused their website to see just exactly what I will be winning. This is worth an entry yeah? If you would like to count it as 5, I'll accept that as well.
ReplyDeleteThis would be great! I am so used to just closing my eyes for 1.5 hours and hoping for the best. To be able to see without fogging would be fantastic.
ReplyDeletewonderful giveaway. i'm in need of a new pair of goggles anyway. i'll take two entries, please.
ReplyDeleteLong Time follower, need googles, will up Coy's bribe of Mexican pizza, to an all you an eat treat at Taco Bell.....and I'll mention you in MY blog.
ReplyDeleteAnd since Coy dropped me from her FB friend list, I think that you should take away an entry.
Going to Like Zoggs (not Tony Goggs) on FB now.
Brad sits on a throne of lies. I didn't drop him from my FB list, I technically dropped everyone when I left. I up the ante with two chalupas. 2 chalupas + 1 mexican taco + 3 regular entries = 6 entries.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try these, I like many have went through a ton of goggles over the past 3 years. I do have some Aquasphere's that work pretty well. I like them because they are women specific so they fit well, but they still fog. I'd love to find that perfect pair and sounds like these might just be them!
ReplyDeleteLike them on FB and even mentioned your blog. Thanks for the review!

ReplyDeleteCoy is a crazy woman who's tapering. You cannot trust her....at all.
She posted a picture the other day on IG called "Bike Ride" and it was a horse. She doesn't even know the difference in a horse and a bike. SMH :)
You're the king of give aways! I could totally use a new pair of goggles! Here's my comment, and I'm already a follower. I'm glad you found a great company and great goggles.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying following your blog James....thank you for the insight on the Zoggs. I will be purchasing a pair as soon as I can find the small/medium with the cool blue lens. And I hope all you other followers are keenly aware that the number 4 with hard taco shells, a Pepsi, and maybe a cool ranch Doritos locos taco or two is the way to go at Taco Bell!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard I had won the goggles, I just thought I would stop in to claim my prize.
