Week 1 of Trusting The Plan

Happy Memorial Day!!!  Enjoy your BBQ's and cookouts everyone!

I will be starting my Redman training plan. 17 weeks of fun! Here is what I have on plan for this week:

Monday: 7.5 mile bike in 28 minutes and a 2250 yd swim
Tuesday: 2 mile run in 20 minutes
Wednesday: 13.2 mile bike in 49 minutes
Thursday: 3.5 mile run in 35 minutes
Friday: 1850 yd swim in 33 minutes
Saturday: 37.7 mile ride in 2:27 minutes
Sunday: 5 mile run in 50 minutes

At first glance, week 1 does not look that tough, I even questioned the low miles on Monday and Tuesday, but as always, I am reverting back to my slogan of last year, "Trust the Plan". That's all I know to do.

  1. This looks perfect for 17 weeks out. Good base building, not pushing towards peak too early. Keep with the plan.

  3. What plan are you following? Does it include resort days when the volume gets heavier?

    1. It is a BT plan, and yes it does have rest days worked into it. I only wish it had "resort days" LOL

  4. Whoa ... that is 10.5mi Running and like 58mi on the bike. That should be your Saturday 17 weeks out, not the entire week. What plan is this?
