I discovered something today, something that bummed me out bigtime! This morning, my bride and I had to run her vehicle to the shop, afterwards, we took a few minutes to go and grab a McGriddle at McDonald's. We placed our order to go and then went back to the house for breakfast. My wife was looking at the receipt and noticed something on the receipt that I had never seen before...
TAKE OUT TAX $.24
What? They are taxing me for not eating there at the restaraunt (if you can call Mickey D's a restaraunt? Seriously?? When did this happen, and why have I never noticed it before? Is there a good reason for a take out tax? These are all questions that have ran across my mind. I wonder if I should always say it is for there, then take my Big Mac and run!
One person (only one person) said that they have seen this before, but they also said that if you go through the drive-thru, you do not get charged a take out tax? Go figure that one out!
I know the economy is tough and tight, but is the take out tax the way to go? I have not heard Obama or McCain address this tax? So my question is this, Am I the only one who never noticed this tax or is Mickey D's playing up for the man trying to keep a brother without some fries and a coke??
I don't mean this in a mean way, but I'm not sure I understood your comment on my blog. There's a few different ways those words could be said that give them entirely different meanings. I appreciate you stopping by my blog though and would love for you to clarify.
ReplyDeleteTrue, it is very hard to read someone meaning into written words. I deleted the comment on your blog that confused you and I assure you there was no harm meant, it was said with a chuckle.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think someone would just leave a random drive-by insult like that. That's why I asked, because I figured I wasn't reading it quite right. You didn't really need to delete it, I'm totally fine with good-spirited joking, I just wasn't sure of your intentions.
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, do you have any useful advice/tips as what appears to be a long time blogger? I'm just getting started and it's a whole new world for me.
Only advice I would give you is to write for yourself, not what you thik others want to hear. That is why my stuff is so random. Whatever is fresh on my mind. I don't think there are more than 4 or 5 people that read this thing, so it's all about what is on my mind, a need to vent, my training, or soemthing amusing.
ReplyDeleteand spellcheck! lol
ReplyDeleteWould you have any feedback on the things I've written so far? I feel like I write for myself, but at the same time, I want other people to enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteIf you have any post specific feedback, it'd be great if you could leave them on those posts. It's a lot easier for me to check. :)
